Ithaca has always had a special place in my heart. Truly spectacular scenery, very interesting people, and more than a few things to make you say "Hmmm." I spent a weekend in Ithaca with my family in the spring of 2006 to introduce them to the gorges and waterfalls of Ithaca, and to try out my new video camera accessory: the "Poor Man's Steadicam". This was my first use of the "Poor Man's Steadicam". If you want smooth, 'hand held' tracking shots with your video camera, but don't want to spend $10,000, this device is a very acceptable alternative. Visit www.johnnylee.net for more info. My comments about the learning curve and the effectiveness of the device are interspersed with comments about the beautiful scenery. Newfield Covered Bridge videos This bridge is the oldest covered bridge in daily use in New York State. Robert Treman State Park videos Millions of years of erosion have produced beautiful geologic formations and stunning waterfalls. Taughannock State Park videos This is the highest waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains (55 feet higher than Niagara Falls), and a really cool walk up the middle of the stream. |
